"Green Statement" Addresses Environmental Issues

At Superfeet Worldwide Inc., we are continually creating new ways to meet the high expectations of our company's Core Values.  We encourage all Superfeet employees and associates to live and work responsibly.  And we're constantly evaluating every aspect of our business as we move to an even more environmentally-conscious operation.

Superfeet is not only committed to making ethical decisions for our business, but for the environment.  Because stewardship is part of our philosophy, the decisions we make fulfill a genuine need.  Rather than using the "green" label as a marketing tactic, or fabricating a single "green" showcase product, we are exploring a working paradigm that can help protect our resources.  The following are recent or future steps we are taking to become a greener company:

• Our 2007 Dealer Workbooks and Healthcare Workbooks are certified by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) at the highest possible level, printed on 100% post-consumer paper with vegetable inks, and completely recyclable.  Our goal is to print future marketing materials to meet the same standards.  Our printer, Hemlock Printers Ltd., Vancouver, B.C. was named Most Environmentally Friendly Printer in Canada at the 2006 Environmental Printing Awards.
• Superfeet product boxes (packaging) are made of recyclable cardboard only, with no non-recyclable plastic "windows" or cellophane wrapping.  We do not support the use of corn-based plastics for packaging, as they are currently non-recyclable.
• We are participating in local Puget Sound Energy's Green Power Programme to supply electricity to our home office, manufacturing warehouse and shipping location.  The renewable energy used to supply the program is derived from wind, solar, landfill gas, and biomass sources located in the Pacific Northwest.
• Our Research and Development team is testing new materials that would enable us to produce insoles made of up to 70% post-consumer recycled waste.

At Superfeet, we make each new project an opportunity to become more ecologically aware.  We are working methodically to overcome our limitations to practice good environmental stewardship.  By changing the "small" things, one at a time, we guarantee that each step is attainable and more importantly, sustainable.
